Elementary Spanish Website

Education: I have my BA in Spanish with a minor in Italian from the University of Dallas, as well as partial completion of an elementary education degree from Alverno College.

Teaching Experience: I taught K5 for 3 years on Milwaukee’s South side in a Catholic School with a predominately Hispanic student body. I chose to be at home with my subsequent 6 children to be their first teacher, during which time I also taught Spanish in multiple capacities, as a private tutor for local high school students as well as adults seeking to learn Spanish, teaching small classes of homeschooled students, and for 5 years as the teacher for Brookfield Academy’s after-school Spanish program and as a long term sub for their elementary Spanish teacher. I enjoyed staying current speaking by joining a local Spanish conversation club. I was happy to help out during the 22/23 school year for an extended substitute position in the Spanish classroom, and fell in love again with teaching, the students and the Spanish language!

Family Life: My husband Robbie and I have been parish members of St. Joe’s since 1999! We started bringing my aging grandparents to Mass here and then fell in love with the school and parish community. Three of our 6 children are St. Joe’s graduates, and the younger three are current students at the day school.

Interests & Hobbies: I am passionate about our faith, art, foreign languages and travel. I love to read, paint, draw, play board and card games, hike, bird-watch with my daughters, and road-trips. I also enjoy shooting hoops in the driveway and I have recently become hooked on strength training at the gym. I am currently a catechist at St. Joe’s and lead a girls club focused on virtue and friendship. I am always looking for ways to incorporate our Catholic faith into the fabric of family life!
